Sumfield and Day in administration

Digital and litho printer Sumfield and Day has closed its doors after administrator Vantis Business Recovery Services (BRS) was appointed on 23 March.

Chris Stevens, client partner at Vantis division BRS, said the company went into administration due to a decline in sales coupled with difficult trading conditions in the current economic climate.

Operations ceased on Monday resulting in all staff being made redundant at the Eastbourne-based company. PrintWeek understands that around 30 staff were employed by the business.

Stevens said: "It is extremely sad when a long-run family firm is forced into insolvency. Sumfield and Day was a highly respected printer."

Sumfield and Day specialised in calendars, wedding invitations, Christmas cards, certificates and vouchers.
