Spandex appointed as master distributor for 3M architectural products

3M has appointed sign and display trade supplier Spandex as sole UK master distributor of its architectural substrates.

3M’s architectural markets division manufactures products with innovative finishes for application on both interior and exterior surfaces such as office or retail spaces.

Spandex already supplies a range of 3M products, with latest additions including Fasara Glass Finishes, Dichroic Glass Finishes and most recently Di-Noc Architectural Finishes. The Di-Noc films offer a range of special effect self-adhesive vinyls, including finishes such as wood grain, stone, brushed metals and carbon fibre effect, that can be applied in-situ to flat or curved surfaces without the need for specialist equipment.

This latest agreement with 3M will enable Spandex to expand its Di-Noc range to more than 500 different products sold by the running metre for next day delivery in the UK.

“As well as offering a wider range of products to our existing customers, the arrangement presents the opportunity to identify new customers and new markets that we are not currently serving, thereby improving access to 3M’s architectural finishes portfolio in the UK with dedicated local advice and guidance,” said Spandex UK general manager Leon Watson.

Part of its role as sole UK master distributor of 3M architectural products will involve Spandex working with sign and graphics specialists to develop a UK network of trained Di-Noc applicators, which according to 3M will create “efficient allocation of incoming enquiries and projects based on capability and geography”.

3M Architectural Markets division’s Pen Webley said: “This arrangement will really help us to communicate 3M's strong tradition of innovation in the design world with a wide range of interior and exterior surface finish choices that exceed quality expectations, meet budgetary demands and address aesthetic imperatives within the UK’s architectural, building and interior design community.”
