Schawk expands branding capability with Brandimage acquisition

Schawk has acquired the $32m (20.5m) turnover, independent branding and design network Brandimage for an undisclosed sum as it continues to expand its non-print related capabilities.

Schawk has entered an agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Lipson Associates and Laga, which trades as Brandimage - Desgrippes & Laga, or "Brandimage".

The deal, which follows last year's acquisitions of Real Branding and Untitled London, further expands Schawk's branding and design capabilities, which are performed under its Anthem Worldwide brand.

President and chief executive David Schawk said: "We are delighted to have reached an agreement with Brandimage. We believe that bringing our companies together will further differentiate our offering to global clients seeking to enhance the position of their brands.

"This transaction will enhance our brand development offering as we continue to implement our strategy of providing both brand development and deployment across multiple mediums serviced and delivered on a global basis."

Brandimage chief executive John Hilbrich added: "Brandimage clients and staff will benefit from the resources and forward thinking of the Schawk/Anthem organisation and their vision for the future growth of branding and design strategy. We look forward to developing new relationships and helping them achieve their goals."

The deal is subject to customary closing conditions, including the satisfactory completion of Schawk's due diligence investigation, and is currently expected to complete in early October.
