Rhapsody’s Moscow and Price leave business

Pre-media business Rhapsody has parted company with two directors following a difference of opinion over strategy.

Managing director Tim Moscow and digital commercial director Christian Price have left the Walstead-owned media production house.

Walstead also owns Wyndeham Group, and Moscow had worked at Wyndeham businesses since 2005. He was operations director at Wyndeham Pre-press prior to the 2011 merger with Masterpiece that formed Rhapsody.

He became managing director of Rhapsody six months ago after long-standing managing director Les Pipe stood down.

Price (pictured below) had worked at the business for just over two years. Prior to that he held senior roles in publishing, digital publishing and content management.

Andy Berg, who joined Walstead at the beginning of the year in the new, overarching group role of digital managing director, said the parties had “agreed to part company” after he outlined his fresh plans for the business.

“I’ve been brought into the company at a group level to build a content production layer for print and digital production,” Berg said.

“Clients are asking us for help with design, photography and video production. I’m going to be building that team while also utilising the business assets we already have. It’s a huge opportunity and really positive.”

Rhapsody has operations in the UK and Spain, while Walstead-owned Leykam Let’s Print also has a pre-media business in Austria. Around 40 staff work at Rhapsody in London.

“The business is going through a realignment and when you realign things it’s inevitable that changes ensue,” Berg added. “We have some new people joining soon, and I’m also looking at a couple of potential acquisitions.”

He said Moscow would not be directly replaced, with Berg taking on some of the aspects of his role, while other responsibilities would be split among the management team.

Rhapsody recently added two senior hires with the appointment of Lloyd Hayzer as account director and Nick Kenyon-Muir as head of new business development.
