Pyramid Visuals wins work after Gadget Show gig

Pyramid Visuals has said it is upping its staff count after its involvement in the production of two giant 17x10m posters for the recent Gadget Show exhibition resulted in its winning new print work.

A spokesperson for Pyramid Visuals said: "Due to the TV exposure, Pyramid Visuals has picked up two new printing contracts.

"As a result, we are now recruiting for a number of full-time production positions."

The company produced the posters for the Channel 5 TV show event held in Birmingham last month to illustrate the difference between traditional and digital film.

Two of the latest cameras from both formats were used to take studio photographs of presenters Suzi Perry and Jon Bentley clad in black outfits.

Pyramid then transformed the images into electronic format using a drum scanner. Once ripped, the images were printed on a HP Scitex XL five-metre, super-wide printer.

The images were sent to the rip station where they were scaled to their final size and split into four separate CMYK files.

In the end, the digital camera image was deemed to provide the better quality picture.
