Print Plus UK has made its third investment of the summer – a Bobst Fuego 80 folder gluer – to further diversify its offering.

The refurbished device, which was supplied by Care Graphic Machinery, was installed last week at the Bradford-based company’s premises, which spans two adjacent units with a total of 1,115sqm space.

The machine is capable of producing both long and short run cartons, packaging sleeves and various other products. With the pre-fold attachment it is built for straight line and crash lock applications, with up to six-point gluing and a maximum speed of 300m/min. It also features Bobst CUBE technology to enable quick makereadies.

Print Plus UK business development manager Farid Malik said: “We are thrilled with our new purchase; we can offer our clients a much more diverse range of products.

“For instance, many of our clients in the food and hospitality industry have expressed a positive interest in manufacturing containers for their products, packaging sleeves, and various promotional items i.e., tent cards.

“Conversely, some of our clients in the greetings industry, in particular the charity sector, are keen for us to produce their card boxes and card packaging, which are intended for supermarkets, direct mail and retail shops.

“In addition, we are currently working on some high-end gifting products and conceptual gift card carrier products, now made possible due to the capability and sophistication of the machine. We feel the possibilities are endless.

“We believe diversity is key to Print Plus UK and are extremely keen to engage with both new and existing clients, in helping them realise their fullest potential in different markets, especially with the wide range of finishing equipment now at their disposal.”

Malik added that following several recent major new client wins and some significant contract extensions, the business is now looking at extra investment in new premises, staff, and machinery, and is hoping to incorporate its packing partner into the same facility in order to operate fully in-house.

Print Plus UK also runs a B1 Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 five-colour with coater, which was installed in 2018, and a raft of finishing equipment including Muller Martini and Horizon stitching lines, MBO, Stahl, and Longford folding machines, and two fully integrated Polar guillotines.

As part of a wider £250,000 investment programme, in July the business installed a Guangya B1 foiler/die-cutter, and around a month earlier it took delivery of a Ricoh Pro C7210SX Graphic Arts Edition printer to strengthen its digital print arsenal, which also includes a Xerox Versant 80.
