Post Haste updates bookletmaking with Duplo

Commercial printer Post Haste Printers has upgraded its bookletmaking capabilities after investing around £60,000 in new kit from Duplo.

A DBM-600 bookletmaker and trimmer and two DSC-10/60i intelligent collators were installed at the Pocklington, East Yorkshire-based company’s 465sqm premises on Monday (14 October).

The system, which can reach speeds of up to 5,200bph, can handle a minimum booklet size of 105x75mm up to a maximum of 350x254mm and stock weights of 64-300gsm.

Training on the kit, which has replaced a part-exchanged Duplo System 5000 at Post Haste, took place on Tuesday and production started yesterday.

Managing director Mark Crabtree said: “We wanted to move forward with newer technology and update our old system. This offers greater reliability and efficiency and it’s got digital intelligence.

“We didn’t have the collators previously so that also adds different strings to our bow.”

He added the company chose to “stick with what we know” when it came to selecting a supplier for its investment.

“Duplo are good people, who offer good backup and support, and our previous system was a very reliable piece of kit.”

Post Haste, which also runs a Ryobi 784 and a Sakurai 566, serves both commercial clients nationwide as well as trade printers.
