PNG Digital supports expansion with HP Z6200 buy

Digital printer PNG Digital has invested in an HP Z6200 photo printer to support its continued growth.

The 1.5m-wide device, which was bought from reseller Perfect Colours, was installed at the Blackpool-based firm’s premises just before Christmas. It has replaced an HP Z6100, which has been part exchanged.

The HP Z6200 can print at speeds of up to 19.7sqm/hr, which is 50% faster than the Z6100 series. It also has improved scratch resistance and higher efficiency, with HP claiming it to be up to 27% cheaper to operate than the Z6100.

The HP 771 ink system has a new chromatic red for a reduced bronzing along with a darker grey than the Z6100. This provides more vivid colour output and more consistent, deeper blacks, according to HP.

Managing director and founder Mike Rawcliffe said: “Our new HP printer has increased our productivity with faster turnaround times whilst maintaining the quality of print. The speed and the colour gamut that the chromatic red gives us is a lot better than the Z6100.

“It really is an extremely versatile piece of equipment that is both highly effective and dependable, enabling us to produce printed material for clients much quicker whilst retaining the level of accuracy our clients expect.”

PNG Digital, which also operates a Konica Minolta Bizhub C7000 and finishing equipment including laminators, cutters and guillotines, was established just over 12 months ago and has a turnover of around £85,000.

Rawcliffe, who works alongside a network of subcontractors, is hoping to take on additional permanent staff in the near future.

“We’re delighted with the significant growth the business has achieved during our first year of trading, and believe investing in new equipment and diversifying into complementary markets where our level of service is valued will ensure this continues.

“Our next phase will involve investment in skilled staff to further develop and expand the business.”

The company produces items including brochures, leaflets, business cards, posters, event literature and exhibition graphics for clients ranging from design agencies, exhibition suppliers and marketing agencies to local universities, small companies and individuals.

It has recently expanded into the consumer market, taking on various projects for private individuals such as wedding invitations, menus and party material.
