Pepper establishes The Direct Mailing Company

Pepper Communications has recruited 15 staff, including some former Ailec Mailing Staff, to form The Direct Mailing Company.

The Plymouth-based print and direct-mailing company launched the new firm two months ago. It operates from former Ailec Mailing Services premises and has also bought some of Ailec's kit including a Zaandam Buhrs machine for enclosing and cover mounts.

It aims to hit 1m turnover in its first year from laser printing, personalisation, database management and enclosing.

"We were moving in the direction of enclosing and polylines for Pepper and felt we could fill a gap following the demise of Ailec," said Steve Whitford, Pepper chief executive and DMC managing director.
