Overmatter: Wales hits the wall

Overmatter is delighted to hear news of Welsh printing industry folk doing good work in the name of a good cause.

At the end of the month a team of three from Welshpool print firm We Are Promotional Products will be running the Oswestry half marathon to raise funds for Derwen College, a local college that that supports adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. Directors Dean Jones and Josh Weaver, and marketing specialist Adam Thomas are all currently in training for the run. “I’m pretty bad at running, but training is going really well for the team,” reports Dean, confidently.

The trio set an initial target of £500 but now hope to raise £1,000. Visit: WAPP run fundraiser for Derwen College to donate.

Meanwhile, Pensord’s Darren Coxon (a perennial Overmatter favourite), is off to China in May “swapping Chinese meals for Chinese walls” on an epic nine day trek along the Great Wall of China, raising funds for Cancer Research Wales along the way. His training regime has included tackling Pen Y Fan in the howling wind and rain by way of a taster. Darren is aiming to raise £6,999 in support of the cause.
