Overmatter: peppy passport

As it’s been a record +21 degrees in February, it’s only natural that thoughts should turn to summer holidays.

Overmatter hopes everyone has checked that their passports have sufficient months remaining (at least six from date of arrival) to navigate the post-Brexit minefield? And talking of which, it’s tempting to check whether any distant relations could perhaps open up the possibility of dual nationality and one of the super-cool passports collated by Visa application specialists Viselio.

Take the Hungarian passport, which displays the musical notes for one of the country’s two national anthems under UV light. The Canadian passport also comes alive when subjected to UV, with elements on pretty much every page, making it very, um, pretty.

We are sad to report that the superb Finnish passport featuring a ‘walking’ moose, flipbook style, has been superseded by a new version featuring a boring old swan.

But what of the UK passport? Suffice to say it does not merit a mention. Whether the new blue variant could reignite some sort of Cool Britannia vibe is still, like much of Brexit, a complete unknown.
