Onyx, the US-based wide-format software developer, has added support for Roland's Soljet Pro4 XR-640 printer/cutter to its Onyx Thrive workflow and Onyx RIP.
The driver, which is available for Onyx Thrive v1.2 and Onyx RIP v10.2, supports Soljet Pro4 XR-640's new Eco-Sol Max 2 ink set, which includes light black, optional white and metallic silver, at resolutions of up to 1,440dpi.
Roland launched the 62-inch Soljet Pro4 XR-640 in September last year while the Eco-Sol Max 2 white and metallic ink set was unveiled in December.
The Onyx driver is available now and is free to all licensed users of Onyx Graphics’ Thrive v1.2 print workflow, ProductionHOuse, PosterShop and RIPCenter software.
Onyx Thrive is a native PDF workflow based on the Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE) and includes, among other features, Onyx PowerChroma Black Generation tool with a new Gray Color Replacement (GCR) Plus feature, a 32-bit Onyx Color Engine, ICC profile creation with ‘Vivid Color’ gamut mapping, built-in Pantone Plus, RAL, and HSK colour libraries and multipage PDF splitting.
Prices for new users start from $3,300 and vary according to needs.
