Landa Digital Printing, the largest of the Landa Group’s 18 companies, has taken on Asher Levy as its new active chairman.

His appointment coincides with the departure of Yishai Amir, who has been Landa Digital Printing's chief executive for the past four years and has now stepped down.

Starting as a spin-out of Landa Labs 10 years ago, Landa Digital Printing now employs around 600 people and is in an accelerating growth phase as it ramps up delivery of its nanographic printing presses worldwide.

Landa Group chairman Benny Landa said: “2019 was a pivotal year for Landa Digital Printing, which saw its first press installations being enthusiastically received by customers.

“The company is now poised for unprecedented growth and is deserving of a dedicated active chairman.

“Asher is an accomplished executive whose decades-long career helped Orbotech become world market leader in its field. As CEO of Orbotech, Asher grew the company to become a billion-dollar-plus enterprise.

“Asher brings exactly the right skillset, experience and leadership to help guide Landa Digital Printing and its management through a rapid growth curve. On behalf of my fellow shareholders, Altana and Skion, and myself, we warmly welcome Asher Levy to the board.”

Levy joined Orbotech in 1990, serving in various managerial positions until 2013, when he became its chief executive, a position he held until March 2019. In February 2019, Orbotech was acquired by KLA for around $3.4bn (£2.61bn).

Levy said: “I am very excited to be joining the board of Landa Digital Printing as active chairman. I am amazed by this company’s technology and products, which are already starting to disrupt the printing market.

“I look forward to helping the remarkably talented and dedicated team of people at Landa Digital Printing to fulfil the company’s vision of leading the trillion-dollar printing industry in the digital era.”

Departing Yishai Amir said: “During the past four years, I have been at the helm of Landa Digital Printing. During that time, it has transitioned from being a company with great technology to a company with great products. I am very proud of having been part of that transformation.

“I have decided that now is the best time for me to proceed to my next challenges and to make way for a successor at the company.”

Benny Landa added: “I would like to thank Yishai for his contributions to the company and to wish him the very best of luck in his future endeavours.”
