Monday, January 16, 2006
Resource Print Solutions (RPS) has been bought in an MBO led by managing director Phil Thompson.
"The new management team has 30 years combined experience of the business," said Thompson.
He would not reveal the cost but the five shareholders included former managing director Andrew Dagg who is taking semi-retirement with his wife Linda, former personnel director.
"We have helped RPS grow in the last decade supported by the shareholders," said Thompson. "We look forward to continued growth and introducing more services like creative work and PR."
Thompson's team includes operations director David Woodcock, sales and marketing director Asif Choudry and financial director Paul Green.
Resource Print Solutions was formed in 1989, has around 40 staff and a turnover of just under 4m.
Kit includes three Oc 2110s, an HP Indigo 1000 and two five-colour Mitsubishi B2 presses. It is looking at buying another colour digital press, maybe an HP Indigo or a Xerox iGen3, he said.
Thompson's team secured funding from Royal Bank of Scotland and were advised by local firm Brown Butler Corporate Finance.
