Major expansion at RNB Group

RNB Group has made a six-figure investment in expanding its facilities and range of services on the back of new business wins.

The company has added a further 465sqm of factory space, and 540sqm of office space in adjoining units at its Leeds site.

It has also taken on a number of additional staff across the business, including two former workers from collapsed Bradford printer Global MP.

“We’re investing and keen to move the business forward,” said business development director Alan Cruickshank.

The £200,000 spend includes an additional eight-station Kalmar enclosing line with three-way matching, which joins two existing Kalmar lines, and an MBO folder that can produce double-gatefold products.

“We can create different formats that are ideal for one-piece mailing products and give customers creative stand-out,” he added.

The firm has sales of circa £4m and employs around 45 staff.

It lays claim to being the largest user of Konica Minolta kit in Yorkshire, with two Bizhub Press C8000e devices and three P1200 mono lines running alongside various other smaller Konica Minolta printers as well as a raft of other digital print kit.

Its services include direct mail, print management and data management.

Cruickshank reported an upturn in business in general, with particular growth in its “smart” automated document management services for clients in the financial services industry.

“Clients can download their data up to 10pm, we process it overnight and then start printing and fulfilling from 6am the next day. It could be a dozen documents for one person, or three documents into a C5 for another,” he explained.

“We are growing organically and through new business.”

The firm’s services also include a web-to-print hub that can be white labelled by clients.

“It’s straightforward and easy to use. Customers can use pre-defined templates to quickly create collateral that’s within brand guidelines,” he added.

The firm was founded by joint managing directors Bob Rhodes and Ryan Metcalf in 2005. It will celebrate its tenth anniversary in May 2015.
