In January the business brought in Asher Levy as its new ‘active chairman’.
He has now appointed former Orbotech colleague Arik Gordon as Landa Digital Printing’s new CEO.
Gordon has spent the past 18 years working at electronics specialist Orbotech in a variety of senior roles around the world, most recently as vice president of strategy and growth. Prior to that, in the 1990s he worked at Scitex for four years, and was marketing director for Scitex Europe.
Levy praised Gordon’s technology know-how and his skills as a business leader.
"During his years at Orbotech, I had the privilege of working closely with Arik. I value him as a leader with a broad technological background, who has demonstrated deep business understanding and strategic thinking in every position he has held.
“Arik has the professional and interpersonal capabilities needed to lead our highly skilled and dedicated team, as we realise our unique and significant business opportunities, and establish Landa Digital Printing as a leader in the world printing market," Levy said.
Gordon said he was “delighted and excited” to be joining the company.
“Landa has a special and rare combination of ground-breaking technology, revolutionary products, first-rate professionals, and, not least, the potential to lead the trillion-dollar printing industry. As CEO, I accept the mission of leading Landa's talented team in Israel and worldwide to realise the significant opportunity ahead of us,” he stated.
Levy also said that despite the current issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Landa expected to make further progress with its worldwide installations programme, “as demand for our products continues to be robust.”
The first Landa press in the UK was installed last year at Bluetree Group.
In February Landa also announced its first installation in the Netherlands, at web-to-print firm Simian Group.
Benny Landa’s Landa Group has four business units: Landa Digital Printing, Landa Labs, Landa Ventures, and lab-grown diamonds operation Lusix.
