Konica Minolta has appointed a new head of its UK Professional Print and Industrial Print Division as it looks to transform and grow the business.

Mark Ash started in the newly created role of director of Professional & Industrial Print on 1 September, he reports to Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) CEO Rob Ferris, who heads up the 750-staff UK business.

Ash joins the business from print and IT kit reseller Altodigital, which was acquired by Xerox earlier this year, where he was chief sales and marketing officer. Prior to that he headed up Samsung UK’s print business.

Ferris described him as an “invaluable addition” to the business.

“Mark is extremely experienced in the markets in which we operate and has the qualities that we need to continue growing and transforming our business.

“What is equally important, is that we share the same values and sense of purpose, which is critical to ensure that we grow this business area in alignment with the rest of the UK operation.”

For his part, Ash said the attraction of joining the business was that it was “challenging the status quo, helping businesses to transform, and rebuilding their organisation to be stronger than ever”.

“The professional and industrial print marketplace has a key role to play in the ‘new normal’ as we support businesses to safely change and adapt their working practices to deliver value to their customers.”

Earlier this year, Ash was seriously injured in a cycling accident and wrote a post on LinkedIn about the power of positivity.
