Kongsberg launches extended XP cutting table

EskoArtwork has launched an extended version of its XP cutting table, the Kongsberg XP Auto, which is "ideal" for the wide-format digital print arena.

The machine, a successor to the Digital Converting Machine 24, is based on the Kongsberg XP, the company’s highest capacity cutting table.

EskoArtwork has added an automated feeder and delivery, allowing a pallet of work to be placed at one end and removed at the other without an operator having to load and unload each sheet.

It can handle a wide range of materials from high-density, rigid sheets requiring a milling tool to flexible materials that can be processed by knife-cutting tools. The maximum sheet size is 2,310 x 3,600mm.

CAM product manager at EskoArtwork Tom Erik Naess said: "With the introduction of faster large-format digital printers, there is a strong demand for a higher capacity automatic finishing solution for printed packaging and display materials.

"The XP Auto helps to turn short-run packaging and POP work into profitable and value-added jobs. Users can now offer their customers on-demand production with just-in-time delivery."
