Integrity Print has further expanded its labels offering with the acquisition of Cardiff’s Alliance Labels.

The Midsomer Norton headquartered group, which had sales of £46m last year, aims to grow its label business to £10m turnover.

Integrity moved into label printing in 2009, when it acquired the assets of Topflite Labels, and added to its labels and packaging setup when it bought the assets of C&P Packaging earlier this year.

Alliance has sales of around £650,000 and employs eight staff. It produces self-adhesive labels for a wide range of customers including clients in the food and drink, healthcare and industrial markets.

Integrity bought the business from owner Ian Davies. Davies, who is 60, remains with the operation as general manager and will stay on for a number of years as he works toward retirement.

Integrity Print managing director Mark Cornford said: “It’s a really nice business with a great bunch of people and an excellent reputation. I think we can double the turnover there.”

He said there would be opportunities for cross-selling across Integrity’s businesses.

“The people there have good knowledge and expertise to bring to the group, and we can help them through our purchasing power and financial stability,” Cornford added.

Alliance Labels runs flexo presses and produces self-adhesive labels on rolls or flat sheets.

The takeover was completed at the beginning of the month, and Alliance has now become a trading division of Integrity. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cornford said the group remained on the lookout for further M&A opportunities.

Integrity Print celebrates its centenary this year, and people have been invited to share their memories of working with the business as part of the events around the landmark.
