Humphreys Signs has boosted its green credentials and flatbed firepower with a new HP Latex R1000.

Supplied by reseller Papergraphics, the R1000 was installed at the Denbigh, north Wales business in June.

The eight channel 1.64m-wide entry-level Latex R1000 was revamped last year. The 2020 edition offers 1,200dpi and has a top speed of 56sqm/hr in three-pass outdoor mode. It can handle media up to 50.8mm thick and 1.6x1.2m as standard.

According to owner Will Humphreys, the green credentials of the R1000 and its water-based Latex inks, which have UL ECOLOGO sustainability certification, were key factors in the purchase.

“We loved the fact that the HP Latex R1000 uses more eco-friendly inks. Not only that, it’s also faster than many other printers, can print a gloss or matte finish and even has the ability to print white ink.

“We are working to be more eco-friendly and producing more sustainable signage using recyclable media; the HP Latex R1000 printer was the obvious choice when we were looking to add a flatbed option to our production line-up.”

Running raft of HP digital kit, including a HP FB500 UV flatbed and two 1.6m wide Latex roll-to-roll machines 1.6m the family-run business also offers screen and specialises in estate agent boards, also offering products including banners, safety signage, vehicle window stickers.
