After a nearly three-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the signmaking, display and digital printing show will return to Birmingham’s NEC from 22 to 24 March 2022.

The return of the popular Hexis wrapping contest will be held over the three days of the event, with a grand final on the last day where the ‘Best UK Installer 2022’ will be crowned.

Three heats and a semi-final will take place on the show floor each day where participants will compete in contests lasting ten minutes each. Judges will utilise a scoring system that is designed to place a high priority on quality, with daily winners progressing to the grand final on the show’s closing day.

Once again there will be the opportunity to win over £5,500 of prizes.

Sign & Digital UK event director Jenny Matthew said: “We’re delighted to welcome back the Hexis Wrap Battle this year. The contest went down a storm at the 2019 show, attracting big crowds each day and creating a real presence on the show floor.

“It’s an excellent way to showcase and celebrate the skilled wrappers within the industry. We’re all excited to see what the 2022 contenders have to show us.”

Hexis sales and marketing manager Stuart Shenton added: “New Hexis materials will be introduced round-by-round to make each heat gradually more difficult for the contestants.

“The judges will score each contestant on accuracy of fitting, efficiency, quality of finish, health and safety at work, work ethic, and technique.”

The Wrap Battle Contest is free to enter and participants can apply by completing an online form at www.signuk.com/hexis-battle-wrap-contest.

Organised by Faversham House, Sign & Digital UK attracts a wide range of major manufacturers and suppliers from across the sign, display, graphics and print industries. The event is free for visitors to attend, with registration open at: www.signuk.com.
