Fujifilm launches Acuity LED 1600 wide-format printer

Fujifilm has unveiled its latest inkjet roll-to-roll and flatbed UV-LED wide-format printer, the Acuity LED 1600, which is claimed to offer "best-in-class" productivity.

The new machine, which can print at a resolution of up to 1,200dpi, offers production speeds of up to 20sqm an hour for applications such as posters and point-of-purchase materials.

Fujifilm is targeting the 1,610mm-wide Acuity LED 1600 at companies producing short-run print jobs such as window displays and uses UV-curable ink which emits no VOCs.

According to Fujifilm, these inks have fast-drying properties on a broad range of substrates such as PET, acrylic, and polycarbonate.

The eight-colour machine features the ability to apply both colour and clear inks in a single pass for high-gloss applications.

The new machine also boasts Fujifilm's colour matching software that automatically generates a colour comparison chart against the desired colour to simplify the process of matching spot colours.

The Acuity LED 1600 will be showcased at Graph Expo 2011, which takes place later this month in Chicago, U.S.
