Flexpress gains grant for role in graduate plan

Print, design and copy firm Flexpress has won a 67,000 grant from the Department of Trade and Industry as part of a graduate scheme.

Leicester-based Flexpress has linked up with De Montfort University and will take on a graduate as strategic development manager in the New Year. The scheme is called Knowledge Transfer Partnership and is a national initiative to boost competitiveness through partnership.

Around 30 graduates have applied so far and the first interviews will take place on 20 December.

"We have a limit of expertise in marketing and strategy but good people with that experience tend to be expensive," said Flexpress managing director Steve Wenlock.

Flexpress currently has a workforce of 10 and a turnover of 500,000. Wenlock said that he hoped that would increase to 1m over the next five years.
