Fedrigoni has launched its new customer magazine, Pulp, with the first issue featuring a special section on digital printing.

The quarterly magazine is designed and published by the team behind UK graphic design magazine Eye.

Fred Haines, Fedrigoni sales director for the UK and Ireland, said the title would be distributed to the Italian papermaker’s clients in 60 countries: “We’re delighted with the magazine and delighted that Fedrigoni has chosen a London design team and publisher.”

It was launched in Milan on Friday 11 April, and in London last night.

Eye editorial director John Walters said: “It’s the first time we’ve been involved with a project outside of Eye. We love making magazines.

Pulp is about people and paper. There are lots of stories about paper, about decision making and how people work with paper.”

Prepress for the 68pp plus 4pp cover title was handled by Dawkins Colour in London, with printing by Italian printer Intergrafica, located close to Fedrigoni’s headquarters in Verona. Articles are in Italian and English.

The UK’s Ripe Digital, Moo and Screaming Colour feature in the digital printing special, as does Italian luxe wedding album specialist Graphistudio.

Pulp also includes interviews with Bryan Edmondson of design company SEA, and with Fedrigoni archivist Rino Maccaccaro.

The 240x160mm format magazine features four different Fedrigoni paper stocks: the cover is on 250gsm embossed Brossulin, with text sections on 135gsm Symbol tatami white, 100gsm Arcoprint milk white, and 140gsm Tintoretto Ceylon curry.
