The Leeds-based business, the sister company of Northern Flags, said it weathered the coronavirus pandemic with a versatile pivot strategy and is now looking to capitalise on its growth of the last year.

Installed on Monday (2 August), the new machine is additional to the company’s portfolio, which already includes five other wide-format printers; three of the six are now dye-sub devices.

The 3.2m-wide Avinci CX3200 can produce dedicated roll-to-roll dye-sub print at a speed of up to 270sqm/hr.

The key need for FaberExposize UK was faster backlit print times, and the new machine means the company has doubled its capacity for this product, enabling it to meet increasing demand.

Additionally, the machine’s fast capabilities on transfer papers will enable FaberExposize UK to increase its work in soft furnishings as well as retail and exhibitions.

FaberExposize UK and Northern Flags managing director Iain Clasper-Cotte said the new kit will allow the company “to deliver even better quality, agility and flexibility to our growing book of clients”.

He added: “During the pandemic, we saw a huge increase in demand for our rigid signage but now that businesses are reopening after the pandemic, we’re also seeing a real desire for backlit and frontlit print too.

“For retail, commercial interiors, and exhibitions it’s a great way to wow with vibrant print and our new addition from Agfa will ensure we can deliver the best around.”

Prior to the pandemic the business had invested in the construction of a new mezzanine floor for its specialist exhibition finishing department, as well as a raft of additional finishing equipment.
