Doveton Press improves efficiency with Speedmaster and Suprasetter buy

Doveton Press has invested in a third B2 Heidelberg press - a four-colour Speedmaster SM 74 - and a new Suprasetter platesetter.

The 20-staff Bristol printer, which will take delivery of its new press in December, chose the Suprasetter to replace an Agfa CTP machine because of its productivity and ability to run processless plates.

Managing director Mark Savage said: "Buying from a single supplier makes workflow much easier and with the Suprasetter you can preload plates of all sizes and not have any cassette changing."

The SM 74, which features Heidelberg's Prepress Interface, will "significantly boost" the company's capacity to produce commercial work including letterheads, brochures, business cards, folders and flyers.

Savage added that the new kit set-up would help the FSC-accredited business remain competitive by producing work "as efficiently as possible".
