Color Dots Prepress Studio goes digital with Konica Minolta C6000

Okhla-based Color Dots Prepress Studio in New Delhi has taken a stride in printing by installing a new Konica Minolta C6000 digital press.

PrintWeek India had reported about Color Dots being awarded India’s first Ugra Certificate and the world’s 56th Ugra compliant prepress service provider conforming to ISO 12647-2 printing standards in February 2010.

Tarun Chopra, owner of Color Dots said: "The idea for moving the digital way was based on the  inputs from our customers, where they were looking for a service provider who could deliver colour accurate and consistent digital proofs on the actual substrate."

"Enabled with PSO compliance, our colour management capabilities have helped us achieve the desired results. Based on our present experience with digital printing market, we are already planning to phase out our Epson proofing solution for high quality proofing segment," added Chopra.

Color Dots informed that they decided to buy a Konica Minolta kit after an extensive testing for colour capabilities and consistency. "Since we were aware of our colour management capabilities, we are quite sure that we could deliver the desired result even with an entry-level machine rather than opting for a heavy investment. We have to justify our ROI in today’s tough market situation," explained Chopra.

Established in 2003, Color Dots has grown from a film service provider to a complete CTP solution and service provider. The company intends to position its digital services for challenging print proofing segment.
