Clear ink now shipping for Mimaki JFX200

Clear ink is now available for the Mimaki JFX200-2513, opening up a range of additional applications on the LED UV flatbed printer.

The LH-100 clear ink can be used for spot and flood varnish and additionally for textured effects by building up multiple layers.

“The addition of clear ink to the portfolio really takes the artistic and creative possibilities of the JFX200 to new levels,” said Stuart Cole, national sales manager for industrial products at Mimaki UK distributor Hybrid Services. “We’ve got lots of people doing really creative things with the clear ink – especially on the small-format UJF-3042 and UJF-6042 machines, so customers with the larger  – and brand new –  JFX200 can get the same benefits. It works as a protective layer, a decorative component, a tactile element – so can add a lot of value to a print.”

Existing users can upgrade to the clear ink with ‘minor’ hardware upgrades as long as they are also running the latest versions of the machine’s firmware and Mimaki’s RasterLink RIP.

The clear ink is the same price as the white and process colours – £135 per litre.

Hybrid Services is equipping one of its demonstration JFX200s with white and clear ink to show potential customers the range of effects possible.
