Brett Martin signs distribution deal with Europoint

Brett Martin hopes to exploit the continued growth of the signage market by entering a distribution deal with wide-format substrate supplier Europoint.

The Antrim-based manufacturer of specialist plastic products makes Marpet-g FS PetG and Marpet-a FS aPet substrates for printers and fabricators.

Brett Martin sales manager Nick Hughes said: “The products work across a number of markets: PetG can be printed or reverse printed for bus shelters and glass applications. It is suitable for picture covers, railway timetables and other material with a distinctive finish.”

“APet doesn't need to be pre-treated before fabrication and can be used in colder temperatures, making it suitable for uses such as freezer dividers.”

He said the continued growth of the signage market made the partnership an exciting new opportunity for both companies.

“Thanks to this new deal, we now have full technical and sales support for our Marpet-g FS PetG and Marpet-a FS aPet sheets throughout the UK.”

Europoint managing director Frank Moran said the company’s range of A and G product variants will be available through Europoint immediately.

Marpet-g FS is a clear transparent PetG sheet available in thicknesses ranging from 0.8mm to 12mm. It can go through heating and vacuum forming processes without the risk of whitening or cracking, according to Brett Martin.

Furthermore, it does not require pre-drying, which cuts down on both time and costs for thermoformers and it can be easily laser-cut, die-punched, edged, digitally printed and screen-printed, allowing complex shapes and designs to be created.

This makes it suitable for applications such as illuminated signs, POS, graphic arts, poster covers and light boxes.

Marpet-a FS aPet is a range of high optical grade amorphous polyester sheets. While the sheets can be thermoformed and line bent within a controlled temperature range, Marpet-a FS is suitable for flat and cold bending applications, Brett Martin said.

Available in thicknesses of 0.8mm to 4mm, Marpet-a FS aPet is suitable for POS, shop fittings, price tags, cold food storage and hinged applications, as well as light boxes and poster covers.

Hughes said: “Thanks to these latest additions to our portfolio, we’re looking forward to further establishing Brett Martin’s brand equity in the UK sign and display market.”
