BPIF appoints new CEO

The BPIF has appointed Charles Jarrold as its new chief executive.
Jarrold has significant experience of the industry. A qualified chartered accountant, his career includes senior roles at the then-family business Jarrolds of Norwich, Southernprint and St Ives.
Most recently he has been involved in multi-channel start-up businesses via his consultancy Jarrold Media.
Jarrold fills the vacancy created by the death of Kathy Woodward in August, and will take up his new role on 5 January.
He told PrintWeek that building upon what Woodward had achieved would be a fitting tribute to her work: “Under Kathy the BPIF has gone through a period of significant change and is in a strong place, and that’s a great credit to Kathy,” he said.
“I do feel I have a skill set that this role allows me to deploy – the role plays quite well to what I’m hopefully good at and enjoy doing, which is meeting people and engaging with customers of the industry and ultimately helping our members succeed.”
Jarrold has an understanding of the BPIF from the perspective of the federation’s members, as he was also a BPIF member and non-executive director during his tenure as managing director of Southernprint.
“I intend to continue to align the BPIF with what its members need,” he added. “From grass roots support services to helping people understand what’s happening to marketing communications technology – I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in.”
Darren Coxon, managing director at Pensord and BPIF board member, said: “It was unanimously felt that Charles was an exceptional candidate who will be able to take the BPIF to the next level.
“He’s articulate and intelligent with a very well-rounded skill set. I'm confident he's someone who will make sure that the BPIF, as a members’ federation, focuses on key benefits for its members.”
