Bakergoodchild ups capacity with new kit

Bakergoodchild has boosted its print and finishing equipment and document management software as part of its ongoing strategic investment rollout.

A pair of Xerox Nuvera 314 EAs have joined the company's existing Ricoh and Konica Minolta cut-sheet monochrome printers, which were running at capacity 24 hours a day, according to the Birmingham-based direct mail and fulfilment services business.

To meet increased customer demand for wire bound books and calendars the firm has also installed a Renz AP360, which will enable it to keep its growing volumes of wire bound work in-house.

The company described the AP360 as “a versatile piece of equipment, capable of handling a wide variety of stocks” with it’s fast die changes a key part of its attraction.

Lastly, it has opted for GMC’s Inspire document management software, which the firm said it would use to "its full maximum production capabilities". It has also recruited two IT specialists to improve its workflows.

These latest investments follow on from an expansion of its digital colour print capabilities at the start of this year and a move to larger premises in 2016.

The company has been heavily involved with printing collateral for the general election, boosting its business in this area with a special promotion to MPs.
