Baker Street Tube gets Sherlock Holmes makeover ahead of new film

Warner Bros is promoting the release of a new Sherlock Holmes film with a three-week campaign on the mid-level concourse at Baker Street Tube Station, famous because of its connection to the fictional detective's 221B Baker Street apartment.

The campaign uses 661 200x195mm vinyl tiles featuring the lead, played by Robert Downey Junior, that have been placed in a chequered pattern between the existing wall tiles, which show a profile of the world-famous detective.

Printing was managed by CBS Outdoor and the tiles were printed on a Durst Rho 160 using London Underground fire-rated vinyl.

The campaign, which was managed by Kinetic, is supported by 96-sheet and six-sheet national posters.
