Jordan is 22 and began her industry career earlier this year, having joined Sutton-in-Ashfield-based CCM Group as an apprentice in March.
What did you study, and did you have a particular career in mind?
I’m currently studying Digital Marketing Level 3. I also have a joint honours degree in Media, Film and TV and have always been fascinated by the media industry
How did you find your way into the industry?
I connected with a few people working at CCM Group on LinkedIn and reached out to a couple of the directors to see if they would consider taking on an apprentice
Did you know anything about print beforehand?
I had a basic understanding of the industry. However, I had no real-world understanding of the practices and processes
What does your current role entail?
My main focus is to support the marketing team with increasing the brand awareness of our products and services at CCM Group, this can be anything from our smart desk products to our print fulfilment solutions. My role varies day-to-day to meet the needs of the business and no two days are ever the same!
What’s the most enjoyable or interesting thing about it?
Definitely the number of different jobs we get. There’s never anything too big or too small for the team at CCM and it’s great to watch everyone work so hard together to produce amazing work
Do you have an ideal career path mapped out?
I think there are so many opportunities are available to me and I want to explore as many of those as possible!

Print marketing manager

Dog shelter owner

What has surprised you most about working in print?
The creativity and teamwork that goes into the process. I love watching concepts become reality
What could the printing industry be doing more of to entice millennials into print?
Just showing how relevant and impactful print is for any business would really surprise some millennials and make them think about possible prospects for them
