Washington Direct Mail (WDM) started in 1983 and was originally created to handle print and merchandising for a car manufacturer’s dealerships. It then set up a mailing house arm and went on to add personalised digital printing, which has paid dividends. The past year has seen rapid growth off the back off the General Election and the focused pursuit of target marketing, with the addition of new machinery and staff.

WDM is based in Gateshead, it’s a great place to be

How many staff do you have?

Anywhere between 30 and 50 staff at any one time 

What does your firm do? 

Direct mail services and personalised digital printing for marketing campaigns, as well as litho printing, die-cutting, finishing, polywrapping, auto enclosing and hand packing, Mailsort, design, email and SMS

What’s your typical customer?

Every service we offer is bespoke. Our customers range from one-man bands, through to procurement departments for FTSE 100 corporates

What’s your USP?

Our people. We score +83 on the Net Promoter Score scale, largely because of our customer service and transparent processes. Anything over +70 is regarded as world class

Growing both organically and through acquisition
