The UK’s most northerly printing company?
The UK’s most northerly printing company?

Is this the UK’s most northerly printing company? Established in 2015, Maskot started as a small graphic design company providing brand identity and development services.

A few years later the firm moved into the print space by acquiring a local print business. “We are always striving for creatively driven solutions throughout our range of services,” says managing director Liam Henderson.

Where are you based?

Maskot is in Lerwick, Shetland. (The place that’s so far north it’s usually in the box or not on the map at all!)

How many staff do you have?

Five

What does your firm do?

We produce, supply and install a wide range of things including large-format printing, signage, vehicle graphics, CNC services, printed stationery, brochures and leaflets, company clothing and more. We are currently developing our sister brand ‘Maskot Studio’ to cover our graphic design and brand identity projects

What’s your typical customer?

We have a varied client base, which ranges from small companies and individuals to international corporations

What geographic areas do you serve?

We serve customers from all over Shetland, Orkney and the North of Scotland

What equipment do you run?

We run HP Latex, fine art and technical printers alongside Summa plotters, Seal laminators and various other necessary tools. Our latest toy is the 2.5x1.3m industrial CNC Router

Where do you see your business in five years’ time?

We hope to continue growing our business, experimenting, refining our work and processes, and most importantly enjoying what we do

What’s your team’s favourite biscuit?

Our staff love an M&S biscuit, but we don’t have Marks & Spencer’s in Shetland so it’s a given that whoever is down on the mainland brings some back with them
