60 seconds with Jamm Print & Production

Jamm started in 1995, when production director Liz Shackleton decided to develop a specialist service for non-profit organisations.

“As that had been really difficult in previous jobs I thought ‘what the heck, I’ll do it myself’. I persuaded a printer in Southwark to let us have an office, but we outgrew that pretty quickly and bought our own premises in 1999.”

Where are you based?

Jamm is in Woolwich, south London, in a Grade II listed building that presents some challenges, to put it mildly, but also provides beautiful and unusual workspaces. And we’re also in Brisbane, Australia and we will soon be in Prague

How many staff do you have?

About 40

What does your firm do?

Mostly direct mail for charities. We also work for art galleries and museums, and handle projects for a number of trade clients: lasering, inkjet personalisation, and hand finishing

Which geographic areas do you serve?

All of them

What’s your USP?

Like most companies of our size we work really hard to ensure customers are happy coming back to us – and they seem to

What’s your company’s motto?

‘Keep the postie talking – we’re nearly ready!’

Where do you see your business in five years’ time?

We hope to replace all the European work with new UK clients. So success for us would be to have the same amount of work in the UK in five years as we do now

What’s your team’s favourite biscuit?

Jammy Dodgers of course
