Bobcat is a new firm that started trading at the beginning of the year. Its three partners – Martin Bateman, Louise Owen and Rob Blackburn – had worked together previously at a commercial printer. “We had an absolute passion to be in control of a company that worked in the smartest way possible. We truly believed that we ‘could do better’ and this is what we’ve done,” say the trio.

Where are you based?

Bobcat is based in Bletchley Park, ‘home of the Codebreakers’. There is a great sense of community within the park with over 60 small firms here. We’ve had overwhelming support

How many staff do you have?

Four permanent staff plus two freelance designers. One of the team is in the Apprenticeship Scheme

What’s your typical customer?

We don’t have a typical customer. We produce work for people who want a £50 digital job through to large corporates spending thousands on both print and merchandise

We prefer to deal with “end-users”

It’s ‘us’. We like to do things differently and our approach to the software we use is evidence of this
