Zechini announces Drupa plans

Finishing equipment supplier Zechini has announced its line-up for this year's Drupa.

The Italian manufacturer, whose equipment is supplied in the UK by Terry Cooper Services, will split its stand into four areas: book block preparation, casemaking, casing-in and page-to-page book production.

As well as its own machinery, Zechini will feature machinery from manufacturers for whom it is an exclusive worldwide supplier.

In the book block area is the Smyth F1088 thread sewing machine. Developed initially for digital print finishing, the extra large size of 520x490mm means Zechini will target the machine at conventional bookbinders.

The Casemaker area will include three models Zechini introduced last year – The Mephisto, Roby Junior 2 and Roby Junior Vas.

Zechini's Mephisto is an entry-level model, which, according to the company, features zero set-up time and is ideal for short runs. The Roby Junior 2 all-in-one casemaker features a compact frame and can run at 250 cases per hour. It is suitable for standard grades as well as photo paper, cloth and PVC.

Also on show will be the X-Case manual feed casing in machine and X-Case Plus, a semi-automatic version, while the page-to-page book area will host the high speed children's book lines the Red Arrow and the smaller format Silver Arrow cardboard children's book line.
