Users of the manufacturer's Xeikon 3000 Series presses will now be able to print on metallic foils and similar substrates without having to create white ink masks after Color-Logic certified the Xeikon X-800 DFE for use with Color-Logic files.

This will enable printers to produce 250 new metallic colours and a "virtually unlimited combination of decorative effects" using Xeikon 3000 series presses together with Color-Logic software.

Color-Logic sales and marketing director Mark Geeves said: "As brands require many more SKUs to address worldwide markets, the Xeikon digital printing solution enables them to stand out from their competition on the shelf."

Xeikon will be showing metallic print samples produced on its presses using Color-Logic technology at Labelexpo America 2014 next week.
