Unibind to launch Casemaker 750A

Finishing equipment distributor Unibind will launch its latest case-binding machine, the CaseMaker 750A, at this year's Ipex show in May.

According to the Belgian company, the machine can open up new revenue streams for printers, filling an important gap in the market.

The 750A offers the automated production of hardback covers in low volumes – a process that would traditionally have been handled by manual machines.

It can produce up to 400 units per hour in a range of sizes from 200x200mm to 300x350mm.

Unibind said the machine is ideal for digital printers, as well as litho printers, that want to offer short-run, personalised books.

The Casemaker 750A uses a patented CasePlano, which doesn’t require any solvents. It can also be combined with Unibind’s BCC10 steelbinding system, to provide a complete workflow system.

Ipex 2010 is being held on 18-25 May, at Birmingham's NEC.
