Topcut Bullmer to launch 5m-wide Premiumcut ELC cutting machine

Assyst Bullmer, the UK & Ireland distributor of German manufacturer Topcut Bullmer, has unveiled its new Premiumcut ELC cutting machine.

According to the supplier, the main selling point of the ELC machine is the ability to cut a range of substrates up to 5m-wide and 7m in length, which is "unrivalled" on competitor machines.

In addition to printed board stocks produced on machines from manufacturer such as HP, Agfa and Océ, the Premiumcut platform can cut stocks including Kevlar and glass fibre as well as textiles, synthetic materials and fabrics.

Capable of cutting speeds up to 120 m/minute, the ELC model is a scalable system that can be configured to 5m-wide but also to smaller sizes such as 3.2m.

Assyst Bullmer account manager Martin Sofranko said that the Premiumcut ELC "pushes the boundaries" of cutting production by coupling high production speeds on larger surface areas than rival machines.

Although pricing is being kept under wraps, Sofranko said the bespoke machines would be competitively priced.

"Although we are offering technology that doubles the output of many competitor machines, that isn’t to say we are doubling the cost to customers," he added.

Assyst Bullmer will be exhibiting with Topcut Bullmer and its partner Eurosystems at Drupa 2012 in Hall 14 on stand D49.
