Music and film packaging printer The Delga Group has said the environment is "fundamental to the continuation of its success", as the commercial printer became certified to the not-for-profit Julie's Bicycle's Industry Green standard.

Julie's Bicycle was established in 2007 to help the UK music industry tackle climate change.

It has developed a greenhouse gas emissions reduction programme called Industry Green, which includes an assessment category for CD packaging.

Four of Delga's standard packaging formats have now been certified to carry the mark, which proves that the packaging has a lower carbon footprint.

Allan Wells, Delga Group managing director, said: "The Delga Group strives to maintain its reputation for quality print within the music and entertainment industries.

"A pivotal element of this partnership today, and in the future, is working together to ensure the protection of our environment."

Kent-based Delga Group is also FSC and PEFC certified.
