Taopix issues 'save the date' for third user conference

Software developer Taopix has hopes to coax more than 100 people to its third annual user conference.

Business owners, retailers and manufacturers operating in the personalised photo arena will descend on the company's new headquarters on 16 and 17 May 2017.

Taopix moved into its new 1,250sqm base this April and will host customers from around the globe. The event will coincide with the company’s 10th anniversary.

The supplier of photobook and photo gift software is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, has 30 staff and a turnover of around £2.5m.

Global sales director Dianne Moralee: “Last year we had 60 visitors and this time we are aiming for 100. The event targets business owners but customers are diverse, from print to photo focused.

"Some of the things we will look at are how to convert web visits to sales, ways to market yourself and how to go widen print offering without huge investment but through easy-to-use templates.”

She said the company wanted to highlight the show with a keynote speaker and was looking at using a “big player” in the industry.

Late last year Taopix signed a partnership with Swiss photo printing and finishing equipment manufacturer Imaging Solutions (ISAG) for an ordering platform and bookbinding solutions.

The company also plans to host an open house on 15 May as well as top-up training days on 18 and 19 May.

Managing director Faye Stephenson said: “This year’s conference attracted customers from as far away as Australia and Singapore as well as distributors and customers from South America, Europe and the US.

“The general feedback has been really positive and we’re hopeful for a large turnout next year. Our new building was designed to host a large number of visitors so we’re very confident that everyone will be impressed with the facilities as well as the conference content.”

Taopix, established in 2007, targets its photobook and photo gift software platform at photo gift retailers, print service providers and photo finishing companies.

As well as Newcastle upon Tyne the company has offices in the US, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and Japan and boasts strategic partnerships with digital print and finishing equipment manufacturers.
