Stralfors invests in Xerox 980 colour continuous feed printer

Stralfors has installed a Xerox 980 colour continuous feed printer in a bid to open up new markets in the personalised and transactional arena.

The machine, which is a pairing of two Xerox 490 colour continuous feed print engines, is part of a pan-European investment.

Stralfors has also installed three 980 printers across facilities based in Finland and Sweden.

The company will be using the new toner-based printer in Cornwall to produce full-colour personalised promotional and transactional print jobs.

Tony Plummer, operations director at Stralfors, said: "Everything we do in our business is tailored to the needs of our customers. Therefore, we always ensure that the print technology we install meets the customers’ production and efficiency demands."

The Xerox can print at 600dpi at speeds of 69m per minute, or 450 images per minute (ipm) in two-up, simplex operation, and 900ipm in the duplex configuration.

He added: "Our long-standing relationship with Xerox is proof of our commitment to investing in the very best in colour continuous feed.

"With the Xerox 980, we now have a machine that can deliver smart communications materials quickly and gives us the flexibility to expand our business in the future."

Earlier this year, the print and communications services provider won a mailing contract for a research project into mobile phone use, which involves managing a total of 4.7m communications.
