Roland DG previews Texart CS-64

Roland DG has given customers a taster of its new Texart CS-64 calendar press before its official UK launch due later this year.

The new machine is billed as the finishing partner for Roland’s recently launched dye sublimation printer, the Texart RT-640.

The Texart CS-64 will transfer sublimation print produced by the Texart RT-640 at high speed on to polyester-based materials used for flags, banners, soft signage displays, fabric for fashion and sports clothes.

Sales director Brett Newman said: “Working with our RT-640 dye sublimation printer and Texart inks, the new CS-64 delivers a finishing solution that’s fast, affordable and easy to use.”

The kit costs £12,999 and, according to Newman, alongside the RT-640 would offer the industry a complete textile print-to-finish package – software, printer and calendar - for £25,998.

“This represents a very accessible investment opportunity for any company looking to profit from the growth in demand for printed textile products.”

The control panel of the CS-64 could be mastered in seconds, he added. Loading and unloading materials was also straight forward.

The CS-64 uses a precision roller feed system and digitally regulated, infra-red heat to transfer dye sublimation print onto fabrics.

With production speeds of 50sqm/hr and the option of an in-feed table, the CS-64 can handle both large roll volumes and small pre-cut fabric jobs.

Safety features including sensor-controlled covers protect the operator from heat and harm. Another component of the CS-64 is the heat resistant Nomex feed belt that’s Kevlar reinforced.

This delivers consistently high transfer quality and a long service life. To prevent costly ‘image ghosting’ errors on the fabric, the CS-64 has a tension-bar system that separates the textile from the transfer paper after sublimation and rewinds them onto their own take-up rollers.

The Texart was previewed at Sign & Digital UK and Roland DG confirmed that the machine will also be shown at Fespa 2015 in Cologne from 18-22 May.
