Pixartprinting expands service offer

Pan-European web-to-print business Pixartprinting has launched a new operator-based file verification service for customers willing to hand over final assessment of documents.

The new service is in addition to the free proofing service the company already provides, and is designed to correct everything from graphics placed outside safety margins to the orientation of PDFs for magazine production and correct folding settings.

"While our services are addressed to professionals, it nonetheless may occur that the source file has not been generated according to the required criteria," said Marcello Libralato, HR and corporate values manager at Pixartprinting.

"The new file verification by an operator supports our customers, even the least experienced, in the use of our services and provides results that conform to a high standard".

The extra service will be handled by 13 dedicated Pixartprinting staff and the customer will be charged for entrusting their final approval to the company. With an average of 3,800 jobs per day, it is a significant undertaking, but Libralato said it was what the market was now demanding.

"In order to guarantee our customers the usual high quality of service and products, we have been investing not only in technology but also in human resources," he said. "We have had to do this to react to strong market demand."

The company has taken on 60 additional staff in total this year, as part of an extensive investment programme that has also included the world’s largest installation of Durst P10 systems and a move into the labels market.

Libralato said Pixartprinting was on course to increase turnover as a result, from €32m (£26m) in 2011 to €40m in 2012.
