Park directors raise more than £5,000 for cancer charity

Two directors of Park Communications are taking to their bicycles this weekend to pedal all the way to Amsterdam to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Alison Branch and Heath Mason hope their pedal power on 3 and 4 October will raise over £5,000 for Cancer Research at the Royal Marsden hospital in London.

The world-leading cancer centre cares for 50,000 patients a year and the two directors will cycle with 42 people coordinated by a Park Communications' customer.

Corporate and brand communications agency Emperor has helped raise over £80,000 and is hoping to break the £100,000 mark through various endeavours.

After an early start on day one the cyclists will ride 65 miles from London to Harwich where they will catch a ferry to the Hook of Holland in Rotterdam.

Day two sees the team pedal to Amsterdam, a journey of around 55 miles.

Managing director Alison Branch said: “The first stretch will be tough thanks to the undulating route and although much of Holland is flat, the wind can whip up to make cycling really difficult.

“A huge thank you to staff, customers and suppliers who have already donated or pledged over £5,000. Heath and I have been in training for over two months and feel ready for the challenge.”
