Packaging Innovations London seminar details revealed

Easyfairs has revealed more details about the Learnshops seminars that will take place at Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2015.

The show organiser has confirmed that Müller, Liberty, Nabeel Perfumes and Brand On Shelf (BOS) will be among the names that will reveal their packaging success stories at the co-located events, which will take place at London’s Olympia on 16 and 17 September.

The free-to-attend seminars will be located at both the Brand Innovation Theatre and the Keynote Theatre.

Müller packaging development manager Haulwen Nicholas will look at how the packaging sector can promote itself to a new generation of young professionals by asking ‘How do we find the next generation of packaging innovators?’

Liberty operations director Atty Hussein will share the secrets of the luxury retailer’s success by explaining ‘How to use your packaging brand to make an impact on the high street, whilst retaining costs’.

BOS managing director Guy Douglass will discuss how brands can defend themselves against the online shopping environment and from discounters’ copycat designs through the power of packaging design.

Douglass said: “As marketing channels continue to fragment and the rate of change in shopper behaviour continues to accelerate, the role of packaging as part of an FMCG brand’s marketing mix is becoming crucial.

“It’s the brand in the hand, working at the coalface to enable your brand to influence your consumer right through the product life-cycle. Ignore it at your peril.”

Douglas Herbert from Nabeel Perfumes will be looking at ‘Innovation for the super-luxury market’.

Easyfairs has so far signed 175 exhibitors as it prepares for an event double the size of the first show in 2010.

“We expect the show to be slightly bigger than last year in terms of exhibitors,” said event director Alison Church.

“For visitors, we saw growth of between 10% and 18% in previous years and I hope for similar growth in 2015.”

New show features this year include The Live Design Challenge and The Great Innovation Debate while The Drinks and Beauty Symposiums will return. Visitors will also be able to get one-to-one personalised advice on any aspect of their packaging from professionals at the Packaging Consultancy Clinic.

Headline speakers at the drinks symposium will include experts behind Sauvelle, a new French vodka, and Funkin Cocktails' managing director Andrew King.

Sauvelle brand marketing and business development director Nick Worthington will talk about launching a small independent brand on to the market and the importance of packaging.

Exhibitors signed up for Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2015 include API Foil, Herbert Walkers, VCG Kestrel, Astro-Med UK, Miran, Leo Luxe, Fleet Luxury, HH Deluxe Packaging and Schur Star Systems.

Entrance to the show is free. Register on the Easyfairs website.
