Ottimo awarded RAC job following wide-format investment

Ottimo Digital has recently completed a contract to print new livery on the back of the RAC's 1,400 breakdown assistance vans.

The company, based in South Wales, recently invested in two 64-inch Epson SureColor SC-S30600 four-colour roll-fed printers, supplied by Epson distributor Spandex.

A statement from Ottimo said that after installing the new kit it felt confident for the first time in taking on large-volume, high quality, last-minute jobs. This was crucial for the RAC job, which was completed at the end of November.

The new RAC livery was printed onto grey-backed self-adhesive vinyl with a five-year life span, before being applied to the van panels. Ottimo Digital also provided a project management and installation service for the fitting of the livery.

The printing of the vinyl panels took about a week, and the installations took six weeks.

Ottimo Digital managing director Nick Lindwall said it was delighted to win the project. "It has been an exciting operational challenge for us to be involved both in the print production of the vinyls and also the project management of the full installation," he said.

Lindwall told PrintWeek that Ottimo Digital had never done a job like this before, but having purchased the second Epson SureColour specifically for this job, it now had the capacity to complete other larger volume contracts.
