Nilpeter to launch new integrated digital inkjet press

Nilpeter will launch a new integrated digital inkjet label press at Labelexpo 2015 in September, designed for fast makereadies and quick turnarounds.

The firm’s Panorama product line, including the five-colour DP-3 UV inkjet unit, uses UV inkjet and workflow technology developed by Screen and a Nilpeter integrated finishing line.

Nilpeter said the DP-3 UV is "highly productive" and produces a variety of label jobs in short-to-medium run lengths with minimum wastage.

The manufacturer has adapted many of its inline finishing modules to suit digital printing. They include a web in-feed, varnishing unit, the QC-Die-cutting system, smart matrix stripping, length slitting, varnishing unit and small roll dual rewinds.

A mark sensor allows the precise re-inserting of webs for reverse printing, or overprinting of pre-printed webs, including variable data.

The press has a maximum printing width of 322mm on up to 350mm wide web. It prints up to 50m/min using paper or filmic label laminates from 90 to 350mic.

High-definition UV inks are used for CMYK, with an opaque white ink as standard for printing transparent films and metallic foils.

The Panorama DP-3 print engine, which uses Screen’s Truepress imaging technology, uses single-pass 600dpi resolution piezo printheads with four-level greyscale imaging.

Labelexpo will take place in Brussels, Belgium from 29 September to 2 October.
